Looking for example Use Cases

After downloading my special reports, I received this email from Shoakat:

“Thanks, let me know how to write and give live examples of use cases, so that we learn by hands on.”

I thought more people might be thinking the same thing, so I am posting some thoughts here in the blog.

There is one example use case in the report Expert Tips for Writing Use Cases. There is also a whole case study with a lot of use cases in my book “Applying Use Cases: A Practical Guide”.

Now I can not share use cases I have written for customers, because that is proprietary information. But I can come up with other examples. What kind of examples would be good ones for you? What kind of software?

On the other hand, if you want to learn by doing, then maybe looking at more examples is not the answer. Perhaps some of you have some use cases that you would like to post for comments and suggestions.

I have been thinking about a web-based, step-by-step guide to producing a use case. Something that would have instructions, templates, maybe audio or video, to step you through writing a use case. Would that be of interest to anyone?

You can use the comment link below to let me know your thoughts.
