December 22, 2006 is the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. This is the shortest day of the year for those of us north of the equator.
From now on, the days will grow progressively longer until the summer solstice on June 21, 2007.
Now is a good time to finish any old business and start fresh (maybe this where the tradition of New Year’s resolutions started?). I know I am very inspired now to clean off my desk (physical and electronic) and to finish projects I started earlier in the year.
Most cultures have a holiday at this time of year, celebrating the return of light. It is a good time to visit with family and friends. Let the people you love know that you care for them. If someone has inspired you, made a difference in your life, now is a good time to let that person know. This is one of the greatest gifts you can give to another person – to tell them how much you appreciate them.
I appreciate all of you, and the feedback and encouragement you offer me and each other.
